Yesterday in the morning when I came to office - I realized that there was something wrong. No, the office was still in the place. Yes, I could use my key to get in. But it was in shinny Christmas outfit - pine tree ornaments,garlands and other decorations, Christmas tree with large shiny toys, Santa clauses hanging from the stairs (there is no chimney in our office) - I didn't realized they are getting in or out. Of course, it was not that sudden - only after weekend - but my workplace was filled with synthetic (the one You can find in shopping centers) Christmas mood. Of course it's nice to look at. And shinny. But all the decorations are not Lithuanian style - I wonder what is it Lithuanian Christmas style - but really it's not that flashy and colorful.
And of course, as not expected from IT company - the decorations are totally not IT style. The next year will be the year of the mouse. And I remember, that in my last working place, we used cd's to decorate our Christmas tree. It was not because we decided to go cheap - it was a design decision, as much as I recall.
Our room at office decided to follow the whole Christmas madness and to decorate our space too - our key accent will be - Candy Christmas Tree - everyone is welcome to join it.
